Fracture

Stoneware, terracotta, video, audio, projection
1 minute, 45 seconds
2009

This project was a personal journey that stemmed from a family tragedy. After the unexpected death of my uncle, I was able to channel my emotion through this installation.

The video being projected onto the ceramic form represents chaos. Ceramic shards were accumulated after the destruction shown in the video and filled the backside of the ceramic form, a personal attempt to bring order to a tragic situation.

Video produced in collaboration with Chris Durr.

This video was created in collaboration with Chris Durr. The footage was projected onto a ceramic figure during an installation in 2010 at the Kansas City Art Institute. Follow this link for more information on Fracture. http://benharle.com/Portfolio/Fracture.aspx
