This work investigates the human body in its relationship to architecture. A field of clay column bases take on the appearance of structure and strength.
As my body travels across, the material gives way. The idea of false structure is emphasized. Water underneath the forms begins to slake the unfired clay back down to its original state. The video was projected on the ground in the same place the performance took place. Three rows of fired floor tiles flanked each side of the projection.
Every step of the ceramic process was considered. Viewers were invited to walk through the projection to reach the column sets on the opposite wall, mimicking the image being shown.
